Enjoyed a family holiday in Dunsborough, sneaking in a couple of shoots whilst there. The cloud gods weren’t overly favourable, but I enjoyed playing with the new Circular Polariser. Quindalup Boatramp once again provided me with some shots that I love, and are totally different to the last time I went. I did miss my shooting buddies though, it’s been quite a while since I had to shoot alone!
A early morning trip to Canal Rocks was aborted when I got there to find a shabby looking boat moored by the boatramp, and too much wind to shoot from the bridge. Stopped off at Smith’s Beach, and loved the simplicity of this…..sometimes its nice to just stop and stare at the ocean for a while….
I was fortunate to be amongst 6 photographers from PIP allowed access to shoot from the Perth Airport Control Tower last night. It was a great experience to just go, with fabulous 360 views on a pleasant Perth evening (thankfully not too windy!). There is a “balcony” around the outside where we could set-up our tripods, although being slightly height challenged a little stool to stand-on would have been handy!
We were also lucky to get a sneak peak in the control room itself
Enjoyed a lovely weekend with the girls up at Cervantes. Plenty of laughter and a bit of photography. Near disaster, as when we first arrived it was too windy to go to the dunes and the Pinnacles were closed for repairs to the road! The Pinnacles reopened in time for a sunset shoot (I have never been a great fan, and haven’t edited those shots yet!), sadly it was cloudless and extremely windy. Sunday morning we headed for the nearby dunes. It was dark, and we managed to drive right by them
…….ending up some 65kms south at Wedge Island, arriving just in time for sunrise. I was a happy girl, we found some nice unspoilt dunes…
Had a whole heap of fun last night at Kwinana Beach with Stephen Humpleby and Dave Savage showing us their light painting skills and tricks. I cannot take any credit for the creativity or “light spinning”, but thoroughly enjoyed watching and taking some cool photos
Was great to finally meet Steve, an online friend for quite some time, and a few other PIPsters….
There were some fabulous clouds hanging over the hills all day, really big and fluffy white. So headed out with a friend to try and capture some nice cloud shots, was thinking gorgeous tree in the big white cloud. Drove for miles, but the clouds had changed when we got there…..not quite so white and fluffy! Struggled to find pretty trees in the right location too! We did stop a couple of times. While shooting the sunset scene we noticed there was a distant storm and the lightning flashes kept lighting up the clouds….. no nice lightning bolts for us though. Anyway, it was an enjoyable drive around Northam/York/Beverley and got a few shots I liked….
Have spent too much time at the beach lately and fancied a change. With the promise of stormy clouds, myself and Sue-Ann headed off for a drive in the country….
